A.I.R. Gallery is pleased to announce the December 2006 release of Louise Kramer: Sculpture and Drawings, a retrospective monograph of Kramer’s extensive career. The monograph explores Kramer’s work in three main periods defined by their shared materials, concepts and chronology: 1972 – 1980, Space and Abstraction; 1983 – 1989, Heroic Women; and, 1987 – 2001, Anonymous Heroes, Women, Children and the Holocaust. The monograph reveals the changes in Kramer’s style through the years since she began to study art as a young woman in Brooklyn in the 1940s. It also demonstrates her expert and innovative use of materials, combined with a deep- seated adherence to social justice.

In conjunction with the release of the monograph, Kramer’s work will be on view at A.I.R., December 5 - January 6, 2007.
