Purlieu presents Jane Swavely's recent work, which is a continuation of the investigation of abstract painting, referencing the landscape as a structural element. This emphasis on the landscape allows for an improvisation that extracts dynamic tension without losing what occupies the moment between what is seen and what is familiar.
