With Landscapes, Waterston explores a variety of encounters between the man-made world and natural space. With elements of landscape and horizon painting, Waterston utilizes the most basic human perspective to illuminate the mixture of harmony and discord that surrounds us. Waterston compellingly contrasts the need for pristine nature and open space, and the relentlessness with which humanity stakes claim on that space.
