Join us at A.I.R. GALLERY on Sat. Oct. 19 from 7-9 pm for a celebration of Jennifer Soong's debut full length work of poetry, Near, At, in conjunction with Futurepoem. Jennifer will be joined by Anselm Berrigan and Kay Gabriel. Wine and refreshments will be served.
Near, At was selected for publication by Futurepoem guest editors Pierre Joris, Claudia La Rocco and Monica McClure.
Jennifer Soong was born in central New Jersey in the nineties. Her writing has appeared in Social Text, Berfrois, Prelude Magazine, DIAGRAM, and Fanzine, among other places, and been translated into Spanish. She holds a B.A. in English and Visual Studies from Harvard College and is currently a doctoral candidate at Princeton University, where she works on poetry and forgetting. Near, At is her first book.
Anselm Berrigan's most recent book of poems is Something for Everybody, published in 2018 by Wave Books. He is the poetry editor for The Brooklyn Rail.
Kay Gabriel is a poet and essayist. She’s the author of Elegy Department Spring / Candy Sonnets 1 (BOAAT Press, 2017), the recipient of fellowships from the Poetry Project and Lambda Literary, and a PhD candidate at Princeton University. With Andrea Abi-Karam she’s editing an anthology of radical trans poetics, forthcoming 2020 from Nightboat Books.
Futurepoem is a New York City-based publishing collaborative dedicated to presenting innovative works of contemporary poetry and prose by both emerging and important underrepresented writers.
