Artist Statement
My sculptures are not just forms but narratives in clay. They combine ceramic forms intricately embossed and layered with a rich glaze surface. The process begins on the wheel, where I shape the clay into abstract sculptures. Each piece blends loss, memory, and place, drawing from personal and universal experiences while challenging the line between craft and fine art. I use various glazing and firing techniques such as underglaze, glaze, smoke fire, and raku. Combined with shape, color, and texture elements, these techniques uniquely reflect the changing terrains, subterrains, and spiritual realms.
