Helix/Totem Works
Eva Lee

March 5 - March 23, 1996

Spiraling strands studded with silhouettes of animals, Eva Lee's towering paintings of imaginary totems invite the viewers to explore their own way of visualizing the living world.  Working her compositions in rich, transparent blacks and sepias on large scale canvases, Lee's paintings present ideas of organic flux and evolution, but also address changing cultural notions of ancestry.

Opening Reception: Saturday, March 9, 5-8pm
