Jantje Visscher’s recent cast landscapes explore connections between moire patterns and forces of natural change. Superimposing certain types of straight line grids, Visscher found, produces a fluid and expanding configuration of moire patterns. She says that her resulting landscape work is a “choreography of rhythmic patterns which can make invisible forces visible. In perceiving the coded patterns which fade in and out the viewer becomes part of the changing structure.
