Catherine Mosley, Here/Square Series, 2015

Mosley presents mixed media abstract works composed of bands of color that contrast sharply in tonality. The artist creates a visual dynamic from layering multiple runs of transparent and opaque colors on top of each other. On the back wall opposite the gallery entrance, the artist has created a large scale installation from panels of all sizes chosen from an extensive inventory printed over the past several years in her Chelsea studio, The humor of this piece entitled Scatter is in turning everything at various angles to the 90 degree grid.
