Sculpture
Rachel Selekman
October 27 - November 14, 1992
Rachel Selekman’s first solo exhibition in New York City explores issues of weight—physical, emotional, cultural, and historical—as they pertain to women’s lives. Her wall, floor, and ceiling sculptures are breasts (and objects suggestive of breasts) and pocketbooks, which act as representatives for the individual woman and the actual and symbolic weight associated with being female.
