A.I.R. exhibits sculpture by Ann Pachner in her first solo exhibition in New York City. Pachner’s concern is opposites, particularly the seen versus the unseen, the hidden versus the exposed, the spiritual versus the material. Her deepest fascination is with the different states of passage that link these opposites. Entering the gallery, the viewer sees delicately carved votive bowls and works where the spirit turns inward, is waiting, or else is in the process of opening.
