Charcot: Two Concepts of Nature
Nicole Jolicoeur

April 2 - 20, 1985

Nicole Jolicoeur is a Canadian artist working in Montreal. Through Jean-Martin Charcot and Jean-Baptiste Charcot, she explored two different codifications of reality, one that is grounded in the idea of “semina hysterica” and the other in the idea of “terra incognita”. Stemming from Jolicoeur’s interests in language and codes, the artist questions one’s apriori acceptance of what is “natural”.
