“As If to See” is the result of Francie Shaw looking directly and compassionately at the present world. Outwardly, the various pieces are quite different: digital prints, 8 foot drawings on silk and mylar and 12 inch sculptures. But all the work is sculpture and drawing, even the photographs. They are layered images: of light, semi-transparencies, solid objects, shadows, plaster and ink.
