Lenore Goldberg

A.I.R. presents recent oil paintings on paper by gallery member Lenore Goldberg. The new paintings are composed of four, six, and nine panels of paper arranged in regular grids. The images she includes in her work are drawn from contrasting, sometimes conflicting, painterly ideas of twentieth century art which cause a complex visual tension, at times a contradictory dislocation of surface and pictorial space.
