Yntema continues her exploration with the uses of various materials to extend the nature of painting. Utilizing the 2,000 year old classic form of hot wax encaustic, Yntema develops this technique while making references to other historical periods in art such as the Dutch landscape painters of the 17th century and the simplicity of Far Eastern prints.
