Augmented Drawings
Nancy Storrow
March 5 - March 9, 1996
In Augmented Drawings, each large graphite drawing is paired with a small, earth-colored oil painting or a concrete sculpture. They allude to an identification with the natural world, and describe a parallel internal world. Both the drawings and the paintings are full of revisions, reinforcing the dynamic quality of the images. The sculptures create an illusion of stability, eroded by an awareness of their relationship to impermanent forms.
Opening: Saturday, March 9, 5-7pm
