A.I.R. Print Portfolio: Women Making History
A.I.R. Members
May 14 – June 1, 1991
As a tribute to the 20th anniversary of its founding as the first women’s cooperative gallery, A.I.R. presents an exhibition of prints made in 1976 by nineteen of its founding and early members. The show provides an ensemble view of the early work of A.I.R. artists, several of whom currently have major international reputations, and it reaffirms the 70’s as a formative period for “serious” women’s art in the New York Galleries. The artists included in this historic exhibition are: Maude Boltz, Clover Vail, Patsy Norvell, Sari Dienes, Louise Kramer, Daria Dorosh, Mary Beth Edelson, Agnes Denes, Dottie Attie, Nancy Spero, Rachel bas-Cohain, Mary Grigoriadis, Anne Healy, Laurace James, Howardena Pindell, Sylvia Sleigh, Kazuko, Loretta Dunkelman, and Pat Lasch.
