Hannah Smith Allen’s artwork explores themes of interpretation, history, and meaning. She holds an MFA in Photography from the School of Visual Arts and a BFA from the Rhode Island School of Design. She is a recipient of an Individual Photographer’s Fellowship from the Aaron Siskind Foundation (2007) and an Artist Fellowship in Photography from the New York Foundation for the Arts (2010). In 2011, she participated in the Bronx Museum of Art’s AIM residency program.  Her work has been exhibited nationwide and is included in several private and public collections. Allen lives in Brooklyn, New York and teaches at Adelphi University.
