ARTIST'S BIO
Every day I draw in my sketchbook [in ink] from a photograph, usually a photo purchased at the garage flea market on West 24th St. in Chelsea, if not a personal family photo. I then create a similarly small painting on illustration board as an interpretation of the ink drawing. I use scans of these pieces layered together as work for printed matter, and the originals framed side by side as work for the gallery wall.
I’ve been referring to these works as “reconstructed memories” as they are meant to give new life to memorabilia that seems to have been thrown away, or washed away, with no one to cherish it’s beauty and timelessness.
