ARTIST'S BIO
Juri Kim was born in Seoul, Korea and received her B.F.A. and M.F.A. at Ewha Women’s University in Seoul, Korea. She has completed her study at New York University for both M.A. and Advanced Professional Study and Artist in the Marketplace Program at the Bronx Museum of the Arts in NY.

Kim has held numerous one person exhibitions in the United States and Korea. She also participated in many group exhibitions internationally.

She received the A.I.R. Gallery Fellowship, the National Association of Woman Artists, Beatrice Jackson Memorial Award, and Project Studio Program at Painting Space 122, Artist in the Marketplace Program at the Bronx Museum of the Arts, both the First Prize of the Eastern Asia Art Competition ’90, sponsored by Dong–A Daily Newspaper, and the Special Selection of National Art Competition ’90, sponsored by Joong-Ang Daily Newspaper in Seoul, Korea.

She has been chosen to participate in several residency programs: Virginia Center for the Creative Arts; Centrum ; Center for Photography at Woodstock; the Constance Saltonstall Foundation for the Arts; the Henry Street Settlement Artists-in-Residence Work-space Program; the Edward F. Albee Foundation, and the Millay Colony for the Arts. Her work has been reviewed in “Art in America” and has been collected by the Henry Buhl Collection and Woodmere Art Museum.
