ARTIST STATEMENT
I am motivated by the idea of art as relationship, so my work often engages with specific sites or communities. I build temporary structures and produce large format photographs to offer tangible experiences and encourage audience participation. My primary focus is on hybrid cultures and architecture that emerge from the processes of global change and migration.
In the studio, I construct workable models based on my research, and stage photo shoots that are later digitally manipulated to tell a story. The result is largely narrative and borders both fiction and reality.
I collaborate with artists and non-artists and organize exhibitions and special events in order to expand my artistic practice beyond the art community, situating it within a broader cultural and social context.
